Bitol is now an incubation-level project.
In less than a year, we moved the old PayPal’s Data Contract Template to a global standard, recognized by many organizations from non-profits to Fortune 500. The Linux Foundation and AIDA User Group co-host the project.
Let’s review the requirements for a Linux Foundation AI & Data project to become an incubation-level project.
Have at least two organizations actively contributing to the project.
We have 14 organizations actively contributing to the Technical Steering Committee (TSC): AbeaData, Adean, ALH Gruppe, Data Catering, enChoice, GoCardless, INNOQ, itracHEALTH Corp., Kensu, Klarrio, Lidl e-commerce, Soda, Systematic, and Univision. This does not count the organizations’ contributions to the various working groups articulated around our Request for Comments (RFC).
Have a defined TSC with a chairperson identified, with open and transparent communication.
Our TSC comprises sixteen people representing end users, consulting/service providers, and software vendors. The TSC page has all the details.
Have a sponsor who is an existing LF AI & Data member. Alternatively, a new organization would join LF AI & Data and sponsor the project’s incubation application.
Tha AIDA User Group is an active member of the Linux Foundation AI & Data.
Have at least 300 stars on GitHub; this is an existing requirement for a project to be listed on the LF AI & Data landscape.
The project has well over 300 stars and is growing steadily. Check its history and star our project.
Have achieved and maintained an OpenSSF Best Practices Silver Badge.
Bitol is now a silver practitioner on its way to gold.
You, too, can join the project and Slack. All the details are available on Bitol’s home page. Help change data engineering for good.
